The $100,000 sticker is the bad news the good news is I have been told the dealer invoice is approx $84,000 so there should be plenty of room on price to negotiate. I think people will be able to get on in the high $80k range which is a big difference and if so compared to sticker on base model almost (dare I say a bargain!)

The problem is the 100K sticker will scare people away I think.

Considering the fact many dealers will not even smell a "V" let alone actually get their hands on one to sell, I don't think negotiating will begin anywhere below MSRP. If you really want one though, I wish you the best of luck in your quest. :cheers

Why do you think some dealers wont get one? I have not heard of any allocation restrictions- - have you?

I also dont think people will be lining up for a 100,000 XLR. Right now the base model is being heavily discounted. In fact I think a lot of the V customers will be old base model customers.

Hi XLR,
as you might know, I´m a german and I know that you have about 1600 Cadillac-Dealers in the USA, so some dealer didn`t even got a regular XLR.
I know, like DeVoe Cadillac in Florida sold last year about 100 XLR`s and he had in august this year, while I was on vacation in the USA 4 Star Black XLR`s there and that is all what he get out of 250 made. Three of them was sold very fast!!!

Here in Germany I won`t pay Euro about 105.000 for the V. Well, I still drive my XLR for a little while and maybe I switch back to Covette (I owned 3 C5`s), but than it`ll be a Z06 for here Euro 79.900

As Harry points out, it is a simple matter of supply and demand - dealerships with high sales numbers for XLR's will see the "V", but I would guess production numbers will be low and interest high among truly interested dealers.

Jim,
I was told by the owner of Allen Cadillac here in southern Cal., that only the dealers that paid a premium amount up front would be getting any XLR's.
I have also put this to the test at two smaller Cadillac dealers while crossing the country and found neither of these two ever had one delivered to their dealership, nor had they worked on any. My guess is, it must be true then.

I believe Harry is correct. I visited the local dealer the other day and he told me that he had sold 9 XLRs and he was going to get an allocation of one V.

XLR-V Availability

The equationof XLR sales to XLR-V availability is simple math. it has been published that 20% of the XLRs production would go to the V series. Since we produce about 4000 roadsters per year, that means we would build 800 XLR-V models for the 12 month year.

Since the 2006 XLR-V will be produced for 6 months, the 400+ nationally produced XLR-Vs is right on target.

This plan has not been a secret, over 6 months ago when the car was introduced at the New York autoshow the above information was announced.

If you read the frequent asked questions, #2 talks about the 20% production rate on http://www.cadillacxlr-v.com/page6.html . This information has been available since March.

A good rule of thumb to use is:
For every 5 XLR sales over a 12 month period, that dealer will receive 1
XLR-V. If a dealer delivered 4 or less XLRs they would most likely not see a single XLR.

Remember out of the 1475 cadillac dealers, just under 1000 are XLR dealers. Out of the 1000, almost 600 sold 1 XLR, an additional 150 sold 2 XLRs. That leavesjust under 250 dealers that sold 3 or more.

In a simple nutshell, as Harry & Mswaim put it, the vast majority of the XLR dealers WILL NOT see a single XLR-V.

Thank you
Allen
