I bought my dream in august 2005. Crimson pearl. The first few montsh were fine and then at about three thousand miles it started to make a grinding sound under the hood. this was the water pump. repleaced, no problem. The console is hot and now thanks to the forum i know what to tell the dealer to do to fix that. the trunk is also extremely hot inside, even in cool weather. the floor of the trunk is actualy hot to the touch, over ninety degrees. Dealer says there is no problem. then I had a couple of paint issues fixed and then it started chippin (dealer term) in tight turns. this led to changing the fluid in the rear end and when it re occurred to rebuilding the rear end. then the seat cooling and center console flip top stopped working and the car seemed to be yawing and wanting to roll in turns. got the console fixed and the seat cooling working again after two a d a half weeks in the shop. no codes on the stabilitrack etc got it home on Monday this week and drove it exactly ten miles when the entire system went nutz. Information center tells me no more than eighty miles per hour, engine light is on, traciotn control off etc. I called the dealer on the car phone and he said to bring it in after I droped my wife off. Unfortuntley for me, when I shut off the vehicle it would not allow itself to restart. now the info center says "maximum speed zero miles per hour" so we were stuck, the very first time ever in a cadillac, in 105 degree heat. there are nine thousand miles on the car and it is less than a year old since the zero miles date. I drove an Allante for years and was never stuck anywhere at any time, same with Cater, Deville etc. I have never had a new car with so many problems in so short a time. I love this car and love to drive it and want to be on the road. I did learn with the Allante that the forum was the best place to find out what to tell the dealer to do with unusual problems, so if anyone has any ideas I would sure appreciate them as soon as possilbe.

thenks all,

George with the haunted car

I think I can do that one better................Tell the dealer you want a replacement (buy Back) based on all the problems or you'll lemon the car. I have an 04 being lemoned because of the heat in the console. 147 degrees in the cup holder and theirs plenty of documentation on this site to back it up. The fix doesn't work, I was the first one to get the fix............However I must report that I have a V and was running over a hundred in the the hot desert and had no problem with heat in the console...............Solution, do a buy back and upgrade to a V.

I also have haunted cars. Today, and Henry and Pat can prove this, while we were in a restaurante? my trunk opened it's self! I leave the car and come back and one or the other and sometimes both windows are part way down! Sometimes it's me leaving the window down and sometimes it's not me and the trunk is most definately NOT me! Also, my trunk is making funny noise when it is opened and sometimes it doesn't seem to latch all the way when I close it! Not to mention the fact that my dash lights blink once in awile and my headlights move up and down! Also, sometimes when I put on the brakes my engine surges and speeds up instead of stopping! :grouphug :eek :crazy :confused :nodno :( :cuss :cuss :cuss I'm going down right now to make sure that it is still closed.

Kent,
I think that you are correct, but I doubt the wink as they don't even face each other! I do suppose that she winked at him from her rear, but I think that it would have been more of a fart then a wink????????????? :glol :glol :glol

Bob,
I think that you are also correct! All of us, Pat, Henry and I, guessed that you were doing it right off the bat!

Hi Bob,
I know that, if they show up! You did know that sometimes it can happen and then you get it to the dealer and there are no codes?????????? It's one of those ghostly things, at least mine are! :D No, I'm gonna email our dealership and tell him about it so that my service writer will be better prepared, to call me nuts!!!!!!!!!!! :glol :glol :glol But, then again, they already know that! :lol :jester
And now my computer is doing, what you call those "Ghostbuster things"! I have the pointer over the smilies and it keeps pulling down some menu thingy! :leaving :crazy :reddevil but definately not an :angel ! We need some ghostly smiles! :reddevil
