I have been considering an XLR, so I logged onto your forum last night to do some research these exquisite cars. I have been a Cadillacd Enthusiast for a few years now and presently have a 1975 Eldorado Convertible and a 1957 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Limousine, along with a 1990 Corvette Convertible. Because price is definitely a consideration, I will probably looking for a 2004 with higher miles to maybe get the price more into what I want to spend. I know that this is a "toy" so I don't want to allocate too much $$$$ to it. Are there any "issues" with the 2004 Model Year that I should be on the lookout for? I have read some posts here and found that there are some issues with build quality from the factory. Thanks,

They corrected a lot of things from '04 to '05 ... it might be a bette investment overall IMHO.

I fully agree, if you do enough reading here and elsewhere you'll probably agree an '05 would be a better way to go, plus you'd probably have some factory warranty remaining.

Trulytex, The other alternative is do what I usually do. I find a model car I like I seldome worry about miles I prefer maintance scheduels. You can find on line all of the repairs this car had and thats a good thing as someone else had taken the time to get all of the previous problems repaired and make sure you get the warranty. 1st look for a certified car with all of the records. or 2nd Find a car with the rest of the warranty remaining and have it extended or negotiate one with the dealer. or 3 find a car that you can get a GMPP warranty. Those are the 3 options and Id op for them in that order, prefering #1. Good luck. jim
