'Hard' Wire Radar Detector

3158 Views 7 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  1_XLR
I want to ‘hard’ wire my radar detector (make, brand, color, age, sexual preference and model is of no importance for this question, my age is not related to this question nor is the color of my XLR and the top works just fine and I don't have a wind baffle) – what is the absolute easiest/most simple way to ‘connect’ to the fuse panel (under the passenger kick panel) – assume you are instructing a 6th grader with very limited mechanical/electrical abilities. If I am successful I will post the method for hard wiring a radar detector. This question only pertains to hard wiring a radar detector and nothing else – I’ve noticed how responses tend to take tangents and a life of their own that are in no way related to the original question.

Thanks in advance

Previous thread

There was a previous thread on this topic. I think it mostly discussed where to place the detector remote antenna up front rather than where to connect to fuse.
05BLKXLR, I can't answer your question, but have a response anyway.
We don't need to get into your sexual preference or your arrogance. :nono

I bought a Passport SRX, as recomended through various threads in this forum and others to be the best available, but for personal reasons, decided not to install it. So if you haven't bought, or anyone else interested, it's still in the sealed box. .
I'll sell for $700. retail is $1500

If you can't answer the question then why reply? Sounds to me like you are the one that is slightly arrogant plus you have zero sense of humor. I wouldn't buy a glass of water from you if I were in the middle of the Sahara desert - you couldn't sell uranium to the Iraqies.
Hey as_ho_e - I think 1XLR was trying to be funny and also helpful. Lets see what type of help you get on this forum with an attitude like that!
Humor, schoomer!

I'm not sure I see humor anywhere in this thread.

Let's see if I have the formula here somewhere.....

lame joke that fizzled + a little needling = upset XLR drivers + no answer to problem.

Heh! Heh! Yep that's it. Right here in my Mark's handbook of engineering formulas.

Take your car to Car Toys and they'll install it for you. It's their business, and they're not all that expensive. That's how mine got installed.

In the immortal words of Clint Eastwood, "A man has to know his limitations."
I do. Its good advice.

I'd give the Iraqies a better deal on their uranium than I would charge you for that glass of water. :yesnod

Anyway, I had to reply because these threads have tangents,
that's just how the forum works and who know where this one will end up!!

But I didn't intend to offend anybody, so lighten up.....it's all in good humor
:cheers
