Leaving my office yesterday, we noticed a silver XLR in the public parking lot. My wife and I decided to walk over and introduce ourselves... since XLR sightings are still pretty rare, even in suburban Los Angeles (Woodland Hills).

The owner was standing outside the XLR, leaning in, rearranging things I guess, when we walked up. While he was still leaning in, I asked how he liked the car.

He poped his head out and stood up. To my shock, it was Gary Sinise! We chatted for a bit and we all went on our way.

Damn, and I didn't think of taking a picture with my phone... Insert more expletives here as desired. :banghead

Any other XLR/celebrity sightings out there?

Kelly Clarkson in Black Raven, ran over to me and inquired about my rims and exhaust tips, walked her into the Missio Viejo Mall, she went to Nordstoms and I went to Robinson May. GO FIGURER

Celebrities? I don't even know who these two folks are....

But since I don't really go to movies anymore or watch much TV (except news or sports), the only thing I would notice is the XLR.

Gary Sinese was the Lieutenant in Forest Gump, among other movies.

Kelly Clarkson was the first American Idol, right?

Right on both accounts. I think Sinise is on one of those CSI shows that I don;t watch these days.

Almost confused him with a valet...

My wife and I ran across a scruffy guy admiring the top's origami in the valet lot of Matsuhisa's (near the Beverley Center in LA). I was a little taken aback by some chit-chat about "finally getting to see one in person" and was all-but ready to hand him the keys -- when the real valet came over and she started beating me up about failing to recognize Val Kilmer

To his credit, though he likes good design -- he was wearing IC Berlin titanium frames that evening, IIRC...
