Bought an 06 V today for my daily driver (we'll see). As usual when I buy a new car it rained sideways and I drove it home 125 miles in a monsoon. Initial impressions. Much more powerful off the line than my 05-still a little loosey goosey in handling. A generally good ride--it did very well in awful weather. It is black.

They had a red one but it had too many miles for a new car for my taste. They had a STS-V I drove and damn near bought over the XLR-V. If you have not driven one do so--you will be hooked. It is a bear and feels more stable than the XLR.

I do not want to get into $$ but if you find a dealer with any 06 Vs, now that it is November they are an absolute steal.

Hans. I ahd the choice of shale or balack and went with shale because there is more contrast. This really feels and looks like a different car than our 05. In the garage it is more hulking looking (althought the Viper SRT sitting beside it is more menacing) I guess because of the hood and larger wheels/exhaust.

I am not sure the V is better looking just more bruttish. It is a very different driving car.

My gosh, if I had the money I would have gotten the STS-V also. It was almost a teal color. It was by far the best driving sedan I have ever driven--bar none. It was a blast. i had a 93 STS which I enjoyed but this thing is on a whole different level. But for the vert issue, and styling I would have gotten the STS-V--and $11K cheaper.

I`ve had in 93 also my first STS with the N* engine, was crimson red/black - beside the Vette this was the fastest american car that time.
Was allways funny to show the big merc. and bmw my four tailpipes on the autobahn:lol

So you got your V for $ 88 K - that`s a deal:thumbs

Hi XLR I FL,
I think it`s very interesting what price is possible on a new 06 models at this time.

We all know and so do BOB, when something new came out and someone want to have it first, the price is what the sticker shows, or maybe a very little below!
Bob just bought a brand new GTO for me(for my daughter) and he got a great deal out of that.
