I know many threads and post where made of this in the last two years, but perhaps someone would be kind enough to get back to me concerning this issue.
Dealer changed the oil in the pumpkin per a notice from GM and said it will take a couple hundred miles for it to work...........does this sound right?
They had this problem back in 04, why do I have this problem in 06 with a V?
Thanks in advance

Gear Noise

I can't speak to your 2006 V however my 2004 with 12,000 miles developed the rear end noise. The dealer simply changed the gear oil and added the additive as required. Several hundred miles later all is quiet. :thumbs

Thanks Allen
Accirding to my receipt from the dealer, they replaced the rear end lubricant 8.800 per the PI, whatever ever that means. The first part sounds like the amount of lubricant and the PI sounds like a directive from GM. Got my fingers crossed.

Had the problem with my 2004. once I pushed they replaced the lube and put in the additive. It immediately fixed the problem, although now (from time to time) I get some of the same/smiliar noise, although its only about 20% as loud or noticeable as before (when it does occur).
