Flaking Cadillac crest.

Has anyone had any problems with the gold colored portions of the Cadillac crest on the steering wheel airbag cover flaking off?
The one on my 2006 XLR started losing the gold paint after a year and a half, and my dealership was kind enough to replace it under warranty. It required replacing the entire airbag cover.
Now, six months later, with a new airbag cover , the gold paint on the new crest is peeling . I have noticed this on several Cadillacs that I have rented as well.
Isn't it a shame that Cadillac uses such a low quality trim piece in such a noticeable location?

Interesting!!!!! Well I guess it's back to the dealer!!!!

I am sure they aren't too happy with the vendor on this one.

Everyone has me paranoid and I keep running down to the garage to check all these things out.
I do however have a thump in the rear when going over small bumps in secondary streets............I know, License and registration............But wait, if you order a new one now, we won't give you the thump.
Then there is always the "don't ride on streets with small bumps.Bobo
