Saturday I was washing the car and decided to give the engine compartment a good cleaning. The back driver's side corner of the engine cover was damaged and there was a corresponding chunk missing from the hood liner directly over that corner of the engine cover.

Has anyone else noticed this? I have gone through a few engine mounts in some eldoradoes (I enjoy a car that does not limit my driving style due to lack of performance :yesnod) in the past but did not even dream of it with the XLR.

I will call the dealer and see if something can be done about the damage and find a possible cause (I am assuming on the whole engine mount thing).

Yes XLR28, I have had one engine mount, which has fluid in it, leak on my nice shiny floor and had it replaced before anything major could happen. It was the drivers side front mount. This isn't exactly the problem you have but it could be related.

Dealer called and said that there are no other cases in their database and that the mounts were good. I get a new hood liner and engine cover and they are going to tweak things a little to give me a little more clearance. I don't know how much more there is to be had.

Ben.
