I just had installed today in my XLR-V, the Elite Engineering Corvette C6, 1/4" Aluminum Tunnel Plate w/Thermal Abs ($298 shipped).

http://www.eliteengineeringusa.com/Elites_Tunnel_Reinforcement_Plate.html

It is a direct replacement for the 1/8" thick OEM aluminum tunnel plate that comes with our XLR-V's and probably the XLR's as well.

So far what I have noticed is a more solid & damped chassis that allows the suspension to work more effectively.
The console temperature seems cooler, the cabin quieter and the ride and drive is more enjoyable.

You may want this if-

•You want reduced interior and console temperatures
•You want improved handling
•Reduction of chassis flex (increases life span of expensive components which become adversely affected during high performance driving)
•Less interior noise
•Less interior heat
•You want reduced creaks and squeaks

Highly recommended! :thumbs

Interesting, I might do this when I have the car up to do the rear sway bar. I don't see why it wouldn't fit a regular XLR. fwiw, the dealer had to replace the doughnut gaskets on our exhaust (after dropping it for fuel tank repair) to remedy O2 senser faults. The old ones were leaking after re-installation. I couldn't hear a leak, but they evidently were scavenging fresh air in.

Thanks for the report.

This is great. I'm about to put a Corsa Exhaust System in my V and I ran across this mod not knowing the exact Elite Engineering part number. But I assume it's the same since there's only one available. The link on your original post is outdated.

Can you confirm this is the unit you installed?

Also, did you have to go back and re-torque the bolts after some amount of time?

Thanks.
