Yesterday I dropped off my hood liner with an air-brush artist who is going to air-brush the cadillac crest. Quite a few of us who owned c5 and c6 corvettes had this done and it really looked cool with the flag emblem painted. I will be picking it up next week and I'll let you know how it turned out. It's great for dressing up the engine bay for shows. It seems some of the corvette shows are now accepting the xlr because it is built in the corvette plant and has quite a few of the corvette parts installed. There will be a special class for the xlr. I'll keep you posted. It makes it fun to own and a lot of people enjoy looking at the car. :yesnod

This is a gota see mod. Can't wait to see your hood. You have to post photo's. Interesting that the XLR is allowed into Vette shows. Can you share more info I would like to follow up on that. The biggest difference is because ours are that much lower in production there are only a few mods available not like the Vette than it is almost limitless.
the other mod I did was to paint the crest on the wheels in its normal colors as it is on the hood ornament. And on one spoke on each wheel I had the letters XLR make in red vinyl at the mall. They look sharp. some of you who owned vettes may have seen the aftermarket corvette spelled out to put on one spoke of each wheel. As soon as i get the hood liner back, I'll post some pictures of both the hood liner and the wheels.

·Hey upstate, that gives me an idea..............how about a string of those lights uncased in a plastic cord installed on the inside of the hood to light up the engine compartment for shows............OK I guess that's to much like those dingle dong balls on low riders.
