Or do you think they will try and hide the fact to buyers that don't really know?

So WhiteIce, you get banned from one forum and then start your trolling on another one?:rolleyes
And since when does sharing a chassis make it the same car?
Also, you came here and were a decent member, you had decent and quality posts when you came, but why ruin it now by turning back into a troll?
I was hoping he would have higher quality posts over here also. :(

I may need to put in a global banning tool for all the sites. ;)

:cheers It's not like I just chose do dislike him or anything, he was a good member, but he's turning again:banghead
Im just asking for an opnion to my question. Im wondering if Cadillac will tell dealers not to mention or mention this fact. All you have to do is look at the IP cluster to see its a Vette.
You know you love me Troy, you and I even had a wonderful chat and my 00 yellow coupe was parked right next to your black coupe at the Forum Tent at the Rt66 Show in Joliet a couple years ago. I thought it best not to tell you who I really was:angel

Troy, I thought you had a Vert:confused
You never owned a black coupe? Maybe it was not your car I thought I was next to then.
Dealers will do anything to sell a car.

You're asking what dealers will do to sell a car?

They'll say whatever they think will work.

They'll tell customers it's just like a Vette, or nothing like a Vette. They'll say the XLR platform is all-new and the Vette is borrowing a cheap version of it.

They'll say the SL500 uses basically the same transmission. They'll say the XLR is just as fast as a Corvette. They'll say that the XLR top was designed by the same people that did the SL and the SC. They'll say the engine is all-new. They'll say it's the Corvette engine but with 32-valve DOHC heads. They'll say the body panels are better than carbon fiber.

What I wonder is whether the sales materials include a tip sheet listing all the things XLR has that Corvette doesn't, or if they're smarter than that and they focus on pitching it against its competition instead of pitching it against a Chevy.

Sadly, you are probably right in many/most cases.
