This message is intermittent and only when the top is open and in the trunk. Therefore the top is very secure. Had the car at our local Cadillac dealer for a month. Best they could do is "assume" there was a wiring issue. As it is a nuisance issue only they suggested it be ignored as the effort to replace or repair the wiring issue would not be worth the cost. I can clear the message with the DIC reset button and it may or may not come back.

Is there anybody out there that has had this error message with the top secure in the trunk?

I've had the same issue twice on my '08. The first time "under warranty" a potentiometer was replaced by the selling dealership and the second time it was out of warranty but fortunately my local dealer has a technician that has trained on XLR's. He "adjusted" the potentiometer and resolved the issue. (1 hour labor) I am the original owner of this car and this and other top related issues seem to be the price of driving an otherwise great car.
