Any guys or gals in this area

CORSA Performance
140 Blaze Industrial Parkway
Berea, OH 44017

Will get a special deal with the loan of your V to produce a prototype exhaust that will let you keep the baffles from the factory or they will build them into the new V over the axle exhaust or with the H pipe to the cats.
I've been in touch with the sales manager on a few occasions and he has asked me to post this for our members in this area. You will have to make your own deal. I would just ask, "what are you offering?"

I called Corsa recently and they referred me to Mallet cars in their area. Mallet advised they had just recently installed a Corsa exhaust on a V and would get back to me with details. That was a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully Corsa will find a guinea pig to R&D a prototype; if priced like the standard XLR exhaust Corsa already sells I would consider it.

I just received an E-mail from Corsa and it seems that Mallett just wanted a cat back without the baffles.

What we are discussing is being able to either cut our baffles and tips off and add them on the Corsa mufflers along with the over the axle pipe and/or the H pipe to the cats, or them building the system with new baffles in them.

I just e-mailed him to see which he could or would do. This maybe irrelevant if know one gives them a V for a prototype.

Right behind the tips are the baffles. If you look down the throat of the tips you can see the baffle. Anyone wanting to keep the baffles on any type of exhaust will have to cut the pipe between the baffle and the muffler and install it on their new mufflers.

Sneak peek of the baffle so you don't get your knees dirty

For me, the point would be to have control over the loud exhaust or drone, if there is a drone, and to be able to tone down the Corsa when I want to be sneeky and quite, like in a school zone or hospital area. It's all about choice.

I don't think I understand the point of having Corsas AND baffels.
seems to defeat the whole purpose:skep

Corsas are not known to be loud and should not have drone issues.
I guess if I was sneeking around school zones it might make sense:leaving

Very cleaver leaving out hospitals. You need to do the sound bites on the Corvette on their site. It's not tame by any means.

So the only difference between the XLR and XLR-V exhaust system are the after muffler baffles?

So here's what I see:

1) Unbolt the stock mufflers from the XLR-V
2) Bolt on a pair of Corsas without tips
3) Weld V tips and baffles to the Corsas

Has to be more to it or we'd have sketched a prototype on a ****tail napkin and woke up the neighbors on the way home.

I would say that the mufflers XLR mufflers are restrictive while the V is more straight through with very little packing on the inside. The baffles are the only thing softening the sound up to 3,000 rpm's.

Where's that damn napkin when you need one.

WAITER, two more Martunies.

Close, but without using the napkin:
The connection after you go over the axle is slid on and a clamp holds it together. We would have to use the H pipes to the cats where there is a 2 1/2", two bolt flange to attach the Corsa 3 1/2 inch pipe flange and 3 1/2 inch pipes to the tips

In other words, a complete catback system, including the tips. Corsa notified me today that it will only make the complete catback system and we will have to make our own discoveries as to what we can do and can't do with the baffles.

Corsa Performance Exhaust For XLR-V Update

Has anyone heard anymore on Corsa getting a system for the V?
DarkJediTL,

I spoke with Jim Browning Jr just before the Memorial Day weekend and we made tentative arrangments for my '06 XLR-V to be used for the development of the CORSA Peformance Exhaust. I can tell you that they are very excited about the project, but I'm not sure if they are as excited as me. :D At this point, they could have my V as early as June 25. As things develop, I'll let everyone know.
