I don't believe there has been any changes since in GM's (and many members) eyes there is no heat issue.

just what we needed....another CONSOLE HEAT thread (and a jab to go with it!)

But it is a good point and maybe we should poll the membership for GM so they know......

CONSOLE HEAT IS:

1. A NON-ISSUE
2. UNCOMFORTABLE
3. UNREASONABLE
or standby for this one...
4. WAY TOO F'N HOT!! :reddevil

Here we go again..........................It's ok, I just consider the source.

If you all vote #5, I'll take you all out to lunch at a place of my choosing in New Orleans. Ruth Crist's.
Have fun guys.

Eyedoc,

If you had seen the insulation they put in mine back in August 04, you would wonder why they are even bothering to put anything in there. There was so many areas where the heat could come around the insulation, that I knew it wasn't going to work.
#5 way to F'n hot

For me, #1

I believe Allen said they had put some insulation into 2006, but that it doesn't change much.

I would agree with a formal survey and include year and last 8 of vin to determine if production corrected it. I know vin is not build order but rather actual order seqence but it is as close as we can come. Anyone at GM out there that can pull up data by VIN to determine bild date?

thanks and also my center concole gets very hot as well

Please note a copied post above.
Isn't anyone paying attention to areas of the country and the year of the XLR. this persons car is from Florida and is an 05. Many post about hot consoles are from these areas of the country.

Florida, California, Texas, all very hot weather states. Mine doesn't give me a problem in the colder weather of winter in California.
