I have tried every conceviable position to reach the entire rear glass trying to get it clean.
Now, I have found that if you raise (or lower) the top about half way, the glass is easily accessable from either side, without turning yourself inside out :flag

Rear window cleaning

My dealer has said not to stop the top up or down in mid cycle. Said it will mess up the cycling of the system. Cleaning of the back glass would be easier half up or down but I don't want to mess up the system. Your thoughts?

As most of you know how many XLR clients I have taken care of,, one of the many I tems I tell my clients is that when cleaning the rear window, simply raise the top 1/2 way and clean the inside of the glass. Once the top is in that position, vertical behind the front toneaus you will have total access to clean the inside of the window.

Thanks Mr XLR I give it a whirl on cleaning the glass. Since you have a lot more experience with XLR's than I do, what are the trouble spots or things that seem to be more fequent?

Between

L:eek:oks like I was reading between the lines. It does not say "not" to stop it half-way. It does say hold down the button until you hear the chimes and it is finished.

I just assumed it was not ideal to stop it mid-cycle.

In any case, good to know you can without issues.

Pardon us if we're sharing something that's already known, but there's an online PDF version of the XLR owner's manual which is searchable for key words that might prove to be useful:

Best regards,

This is nice, I've never seen it either.
Please don't assume we already know something, there's always new members coming and going. Thanks for the post!

A word of caution when raising the top half way...............I ran a cord from the fuse block to the trunk area and while trying to fish it thru with the top half up, it started to blead off and I hade to pull my harm out before it crushed it or broke something. I actually had to tear the skin to keep from having it crushed.

This PDF is very cool. I've saved it off to my server and my laptop.

Did you notice it is 400+ pages and clicking a topic in the index navigates you to that topic?

Thanks for the tip! :thumbs
