Yesterday when I started my XLR the idle was rough. Miss firing. After 30 seconds the miss firing quit. And the check engine light stayed on. Recycled and the check light still did not go out. However the car ran ok. This morning my wife took the XLR to the dealer to find out why the check engine was still on. When she started the XLR the same thing happen. The service dept. check the computer and found that the number 6 cylinder had miss fired. But they could not dup the problem. However they also could not clear the error to turn the check engine light off. They said that there is clearly something wrong but they puzzled as to what it is. So the factory guys are on it now. will keep you all posted

After replacing a leaking gas tank, my "check engine light" came. There was no misfiring, but the light never went out. The dealer checked it and said it was a bad oxygen sensor. They still haven't replaced it but the engine is running fine.

Hi there, I have had this after a hard autobahn run (110 -170 mph) but engine was running excellent. After three days with the light ON I have had it to my dealership for a computer diagnostic - they found nothing, anything was OK.
They had the light put out and since then NO MORE engine light came on.

Thanks be to the Lord. I said a prayer for you, guess it worked or you had a good mechanic

QUOTE=Robin]Turned out to be a shorted Coil Number 6 cylinder. And a carbon path on the Spark Plug. XLR is back home running great[/QUOTE]
