There appears to be a change forthcoming in the supplier of navigation data. Apparently Cadillac, and maybe other divisions, have signed with TeleAtlas (TeleAtlas.com) to supply the DVD data. I received this information directly from the Cadillac dealer who had called their technical service to answer one of my questions concerning errors within the current database.
I do not know when this change will take effect. In fact, the last time I checked the web site for Tele Atlas it still did not show Cadillac as one of their customers. A subsequent e-mail exchange indicated that they would be updating their web site shortly.
I know this may not be a critical factor for many of the XLR owners, but there are just too many errors that should not be present in an $80,000 car -- even if it is just a navigation system. I am hoping that the new data supplier will correct these and offer an updated DVD shortly.
