Hi,
about one hour ago I was by a gas station and left my FOB on the passenger seat
while I filled up I heard the horn "I´m looked".
I thought o god and was right, it was looked. So I called my daughter to bring me my other FOB - she came and I got into my car.
I know the car should recognise that the key is still in the car but it didn`t. Did somebody of you had this problem????
Thanks
Harry

The default profile settings do not protect you from having your FOB locled in the vehicle. You need to access your driver profile (Driver 1 or Driver 2) and select the profile setting so as to enable the FOB lock-in protection.

That was good JP,

I thought I knew every part of the manual, but learned something today.
Harry had something different happen to him. The key was on the passager seat all by itself and it locked him out.
I for one know there are gremlins in the electrical system and wonder what they are going to do next.
Twice I have gotten into my car and left the door open for a few minutes. While sitting in the seat and the driver #1 fob in my pocket, the seat moved to a different position. When I went to start it, it went to the fob2 mode and just about crushed me into the steering wheel before I could reach the #1 button on the seat. The read out also went blank after that and I had to touch the up or down button to get it back on.
This is all happening while the #2 fob is in the house at least 50ft away from the car.
Cadillac could not produce this effect, therefore they cannot fix it.

Good idea Caly, but just about how many people have the On Star number in a cell phone which could have been locked in the car too. I do, but my phone would have been in the car.:cry

Just in case you do lock your phone AND your keys in the XLR, make sure you have your wallet and your Onstar member card with your member number and their phone number. That should get you in, unless of course you are like me and leave you wallet in the car too..............

:glol Hi, all of you

Onstar is good but does not work in Germany.

To JP, my FOB-reminder on the DIC is turned to ON but it still doesn`t work.

Today I´ll check out my two FOB`s and see what it`ll do.

But for sitting for 15 min. at the gas station was very interrested. There was over 20 people asking me what make this car is, only two people said, that`s a Cadillac. The comments were NICE - VERY-NICE- BEAUTIFULL - THAT´S A CAR and the best of all was that nobody recognise that I was waiting on my daughter for my key fab number two. :lol

Hey guys. Thank for all of the info. I will be extra careful about leaving the keys in the car. I usually leave the fob in the center storage area while it's being washed. The OnStar number is printed on the outside of the side window at least on my 05.

One trick I learned about regarding FOB's.
If your'e locked out with the FOB inside the car, call home.
That's assuming there's an extra FOB at home and you haven't left your cell phone in the car too.
Have your wife, significant other or whatever, press the unlock button on the spare FOB into the cell phone while you hold your cell phone close to the car.
Voila, it will unlock your XLR and get you out of the gas station.
I haven't tried this but am assured it works.

I was starting to hate my cell phone, but I sure love technology that can do that.

I'm a pretty Wochende?.........What's English for Wochende? My translater won't translate that German word.

Ya Know, you can go into your own thread and edit it any time you realize you spelled something wrong or want to change your thought.
