Great trip and then not so great.
Major happenings:
My Nav system went on crack and she told me to take a right turn onto a secondary road and we drove for miles until we figured out that the "major road selection", had somehow changed. Got back on track with a new setting on the nav system.
Lots of times the system could not detect my fob and in Laughlin, NV while getting the car washed, the sytem didn't detect the fob in the car and locked us out...............Thank God for Onstar. It took 7 mintes to unlock the doors. Put a new battery in the fob today.
Walked away from a Lexus 430 at 130 and took it to 146 before my daughter said: DAD!
Most truckers are not friendly anymore, they would just as soon run a four wheeler of the road as look at them.
Roads where very good and very bad and I'm sure that's an oxy, but you have to drive them to see what I mean.
Worst roads: Sorry Oklahoma, and then parts of them are great
Worst drivers: Sorry Virginia, but you get the prize because of one car that refused to move over and had us blocked for miles. He didn't like what happened when we got around him.
Worst weather: Good old New Jersey. If you don't like the weather.........wait a minute and it will change.
Best roads: Tennessee and Kentucky..........Go figure

The Corvette plant in Kentucky was the highlight of the trip, NYC took second place
See Bob do 146, see Bob not get a ticket driving mostly around 95.............Luck of the Irish
That's all folks

Good morning Test-Driver

for the next 16 days I will be without a PC but I will be back in this wonderfull forum by sept 4th or 5th.
Good report about your trip but I wished your daughter would not have stoped you by 146 because it would be interested for me if the US model cuts of by 155 or 157.

I will call you while I am in the US. A big Hello to your daughter and have a nice week.

Bob :cool you know how to drive!!!!!!!!

Harry,
US models cut off at 155, take my word for it, I've been there MANY times.
sometimes the momentum will carry to 156 or 157 but it’s taped out at 155.

Virginia

I live in VA and know what you mean.

When I had a Navigator, I would get beghind those slow pokes in the left lane, turn on my brights and honk and they still don't move over.

Welcome to the Old Dominion State.

Beware, radar detectors are illegal and the cops will pull you over for that.

I was hoping no one from Virginia took offense to my driver award, but in all fairness, The state that takes the real award is California because almost none of the Caliifornia drivers will move over.................You see, it's an ego thing.

To late for the radar detector, but in all sincerety how can anyone from another state know that it's illigal to use a detector?

Well I guess I need glasses or I was doing 95 when I passed the Virginia signand couldn't read it. Side bar, your honor?
NO TICKETS for me, but one for my daughter. She doesn't quite believe that first beep on the Valentine-1

As you cross the state line, the next sign after "welcome to Virginia" is "Radar Detectors are Illegal".

Hope you didn't get caught.

Of course, they are illegal in DC too.
