Anyone else get the info on the Cadillac Quintessential Program? It appears to be some kind of new deal they're offering to recent purchasers. Came with two coupons -- one for a free 1,000 mile dealership/vehicle orientation visit and another for a free first scheduled maintenance and oil change.

My daddy (after whom I was named) always told me there was no such thing as a free lunch . . . or a free oil change. I keep waiting for the NEXT letter from the program, inviting me to continue with the program for another year, at the low low cost of $XXX.XX . . .

I can't put my hands on that information right now, but it seems like I was told the first 5 oil changes were "on the house" anyway... or something like that.

Not free, just pre-paid with the price of the car.

Now I remember!

When I bought my XLR, I was also told that the oil changes were free. Thanks for reminding me! I'm still curious, though, as to what all this Cadillac Q stuff is about.

How often do you guys have the oil changed in your XLRs?

There's a complete database of a few dealers who support it at http://www.cadillacqshop.com/

On a broader note, most of you must have seen lexus / porsche / other brands' custom-published magazines. Doesn't that seem like a mktg move GM should have for each of its brands, or at least Caddy? -- RK

I feel your pain, although I think it varies by location and whether the dealer has a good market for a used XLR. Just for the heck of it, I have been shopping around my area for a new Vette. One dealer (Courtesy Chevrolet/Cadillac) offered me $51,000 as a trade price, while 50 miles away (Michael's Chevrolet/Cadillac) offered me $60,000 for the same car. The difference as far as I can see is the sales volume each dealer enjoys. They both wanted about the same price for a full-dressed vette convertible, however Courtesy looked at the XLR as a deficit, while Michael's figured on flipping the car within a shorter time and still making a few bucks. Of course, all of these numbers will change is a very short time as the model year passes by.

I checked dealers from Atlanta to Colorado Springs, which were I am now, I also am looking for a conv Vette. But for an 04 XLR I don't think any dealer will to give over 55k.
Hi Budsvet,
a merc sl 500 here in germany costs about Euro 110.ooo and after one year of driving you`ll get Euro 80.ooo - 85.ooo
so compare to the XLR for US price 76.ooo to 55.ooo - 60.ooo it seems to me very equal.
Now there is another thing about it: if you trade an XLR for a lower cost car they will give you anyhow less.
By a trade for a 05 XLR you`ll get over 60 K

Thanks

Harry

Do you trade in your XLR when you get your Z 06?

Hey Bud, you might travel the wrong states :lol In Fl. in the Naples/Fort Myers/Cape Coral area you`ll see on a 50 mile drive one - two or sometimes three XLR`s.

But you are right, I love mine too! Z 06 over the XLR V ? I know both cars are so good each way.

Great car. Mswaim is correct about regional differences in pricing.

I just pulled a Kelly blue book Trade-in value for my Xenon Blue XLR in excellent condition (not a scratch) with 7000 miles on it, in zip code 77060

Heres' the link: http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.ur?kbb.TX;146841;TX201&77060;+t&278;Cadillac;2004 XLR&2;CA;XR

I could live with that - not that I'm thinking about it right now.

BTW - I'm seeing XLRs almost every week now. Just spotted another Raven Black in The Woodlands on Saturday.
