I think with a handle like "cadillac tech", you'd know that he has the power..........Build codes and VIN #'s are not the same thing. Build codes are a series of letters and numbers used to indicate the month and date (and sometimes day) that a component is built - - for example, the engine block, the transmission, intake and exhaust manifolds, etc.
I'm not sure what "build codes" you are referring to for the XLR, but if you want to supply more information perhaps I can help you decipher them.
By the way, this Corvette Forum is another good site for information on build codes.
The reason I need the last 8 of the vin is so I can bring up that car and see what RPO codes it has and when it was built.
