Well, I'm sure glad I changed dealers. Tustin has been awesome since I moved over to them.
Rear rotor scored pretty bad...........new rotor
Front & rear pads with a lot of wear..new pads
Would have cost $768.....................NO CHARGE.
No V for the 4th but I have a new CTS to crunch if I drink to much........just kidding.

Mike, sure glad I listened to you on this change

Bush Series

Bush Series drivers are taught to brake with their left and keep the right on the pedal............and I'm a bush driver.
Do I detect a bit of jealousy here?

Happy 4th you all
Bob
how the hell did you wear out your breaks already?

your car would be a lot faster if you drove with one foot!:lol

hope everyone has a safe 4th

Well, I jolly well do exactly that...........I cover the brake when playing race the other guy and at intersections.
rally car drivers do the same thing............
but the trick is to lift the left when the right goes down!

Well for those that don't believe in miracles:

Pick up the V tomorrow with four new rotors, silver painted on the edge like my old ones.
All new pads and a rebuild of one rear caliper that took a dump...................All under warranty.
Tustin Cadillac in SoCal is the bomb.

Brake Issues

Hi, I purchased a 04' XLR in April of 07' w/7k on the odometer. I currently have 13.5k on the vehicle Luv the car and haven't had any issues except excessive brake squeel. I've been to 2 different Cadillac dealers in the last 5 months and while they've both been helpful in diagnosing the problem, they haven't been able to fix the squeel.

They both say that the pads are fine. One dealer resurfaced the rotors and that helped for a day or two. Both resurfaced the pads and serviced the calipers and they said that they put some sort of anti squeeling goop on the backs of the pads. Even with all of this, it still squeels when you come to a stop, this is at all speeds. It's quite embassing to be driving a $76k convertible and have folks looking at you because of the noise from your brakes.

Both dealers have said that I should just deal with it because brakes are not covererd under the 4yr/50k warranty. That seems like BS, if this is their flagship, they should stand behind the product. This is my first domestic vehicle in alot of years(traded a Porsche Boxster S). Not sure if I'll buy another one if they can't get rid of the noise. Any suggestions would be appreciated. :yesnod

PS. I live in the Washington DC metro area but do mostly highway driving.:rant
