Surveys

i don't do dealer surveys anymore.
the last one i did, i was called to the carpet by the service manager for reporting dissatisfied....being honest....and ask to take my business elsewhere....which i did.
. when I wrote to GM to report the situation....no response!!
I'd do the JD power seuveys..... but I'm insulted by the $1:lol
My approach is to "catch more flies with honey". I ALWAYS fill out the surveys and give all "excellent" ratings. Then I mention the service writer's name, or the salesman, the mechanic, or the sales manager - someone. I personalize it. Hardly anyone ever does that, folks.
This usually stimulates a call from the person I mentioned thanking me.
Then, if I have a problem, I call that person and say, "Look, I'm still giving you the excellent ratings on the survery, but so-and so happened, can you help me out, here?"
You cannot believe the majic that happens! You become a VIP to everyone. They bend over backwards to get things done for you. They know your name. You get the best loaner car. Surveys are an excellent tool to get your way. You just have to be able to understand human nature. (It is how I make may way in this old world.)
And the guys who choose to have an adversarial relationship, well.....
