Very little will interchange with a C5:lol The XLR uses a NorthStar engine, whereas the Vette uses a pushrod Chevy engine:cheers There will be plenty of parts available in due time:cheers

:iagree The only things the XLR and the Vette have in common are the frame and suspension and even those are different for each car.

I know parts will be more available for the XLR than they were for the Allante. You had to order everything from Italy. :rolleyes
I hope the accesories come faster than they are coming for the CTS.:cry
I would guess that there won't be many after market parts available compared to the C5 Corvette. Or the C6 for that matter when it's available.

The XLR drivers aren't going to be as keen on modifying for performance as Corvette drivers. There aren't going to be nearly as many XLRs on the road either.

Standard replacement parts availability should be pretty good.

True, I don't see a big aftermarket parts franchise for the XLR.
4.6l?

If there are mods for the current 4.6l then there will be mods for the XLR which will be easy to adapt to the new 4.6. er....right?
I smell laughing gas:D J/K But I don't see why they wont have an exhaust avaliable, I think Corsa sells some for Cadillacs
I read that corsa does make a exhaust system.
I doubt there will be many aftermarket performance parts for this car. How many people are going to take these cars to the track?
Aftermarket doesn't always equal track. I'd bet aftermarket for the Vette isn't 25% for honest track purposes. Exhaust, engine trim, aftermaket tires and wheels, bras, covers, i.e. almost all the stuff in the Mid America catalog aren't for the track - they look good. Even intake systems like Halltech and K&N are pretty much street performance items - stuff we have to have - cuz' we can. That said, I'd say the XLR buyers won't be the gearheads the Vette buyers are, and you'll see lots of appearance stuff. :leaving
Theres not much need for a large number of aftermarket parts, the reason I feel this way is because, a we know a supercharged one will be out soon (well, I expect it anyway) and in GM's parts code list, there will be 3 versions of the VX12, one of them most likely is for a SL600 beater:reddevil So people that really want performance, and don't want to give up the Caddy luxury, will wait for teh SC version of the V-12:cheers JMHO
The CTS is doing pretty well in a few aftermarket areas. Corsa is selling quite a few exhausts for them already.
You'd have to think Corsa will come up with an exhaust.

:iagree And Troy, why can't we have the Im with stupid smile here? I like stupid, and I liked being with them:glol
i'll bet they'll have a K&N air filter for it!:glol
