Pretty impressive for the first year model.

What are the Mercedes SL stats?

Im not 100% up to speed on the XLR specs...do they use a Northstar variant for the engine? :angel
From the Cadillac site:

XLR's advanced 32-valve, 4.6-liter Northstar V8 engine can change its valve timing, cam phasing, and throttle control to compensate for road conditions, driving styles, and even differences in fuel-intake. A new air induction system improves airflow, and noise and vibration are minimized.

Ill just take 3 Z06's instead....
I hate to keep saying this but I just want input and some people will see it here that don't see it elsewhere.. I'm not that impressed with the XLR numbers.. 0-60 in 5.9 seconds.. While that's really great, I don't know how I feel about other luxury cars like the Lexus GS430 and LS430, two big cars, being faster and $20,000 cheaper.. I can understand the Infiniti G35 Coupe being faster because it's light.

I think Cadillac needs to get their v-series going right away. There was a lot of talk of a 400 horsepower supercharged Northstar for the XLR last year...

Technically, it's $114,000USD;)

Notice the "from" in that price. If you want an engine, wheels, and seats to sit in it will drive the price up to around $150,000. :lol

The AMG they tested on C&D was tested at $150,000.

:iagree
I'm still holding my breath for the good one:yesnod I wanna see 450 horses minimum, unless they can make it light enough to compete without giving it that much power:cheers
Maybe they will bump up the power after the C6 is out. They probably don't want it too close to the Corvette performance wise. It wouldn't look good for Corvettes if the standard XLR were faster than the standard Corvette.

That's exactly what I read. They want the Vette to be the performance car. When the Vette HP goes up, the XLR's will too.

Makes sense:cheers

Yep, they don't want to bump their own performance flagship.
