In the article posted is says there is a special white edition for 2008 and a special edition XLR-V. Anyone have the details on the special XLR-V??

I see they added a rear stabilizer bar for base xlr - I assume that is same as on XLR-V?

I think white is gonna look good.

Odd they brought back gold after they got rid of it last year??

Bar

I noticed when putting on the Corsa exhaust that in the directions it said to unbolt the stabilizer bar. So that was for the V and I guess the vett people. I would think it would be a very easy upgrade to just bolt on the bar. I looked at what is on my friends Vett and its just four bolts.

the V has always come with a stabilizer bar and it is a very easy upgrade on the XLR since the mounts are already there.....just bolt it on!

White does look good as I understand. My dealer told me that one of thier customers bought a "V" and then had them paint it white ($8k). Everybody was rolling their eyes until it was done. In the end it looked "drop dead" as I understand. I haven't seen it yet myself though.

2008 Special Edition

The special editions XLR & XLR-V will have the Alpine White on the vehicle, the Alpine white is similar to the 2002 Alpine White we had on Eldorado a flat non metalic white.

Since it is a non metallic, we can paint it without the issues of what a non matching metallic white would cause. It will also be a Corvette color in a different name. The special edition will be like the Star Black in 2006 and the Passion Red in 2007.

To answer the stabilizer bar question, all 2008 regular XLR's get the suspension upgrades and the next gen Magnetic Ride Control (MRC).

To see all the changes simply go to:

question for allen: today we say #60 of 250, passion red xlr for sale.... does that mean that no one could ever order an xlr in that color when those 250 are sold? I thought that i had read that soon xlr's would almost be special order due to the reduction in production .....

Regards to you question of the Passion Red availability on future, anything is possible down the road where a color that was only part of a package could become available to order. In 2004 the regular XLR had the brownish/taupe color on the upper door panels, dash and parade seat. The Neiman Marcus edition, the interior was two tone with Ebony on the uppers and Shale for the seating area. Where the regular XLR had the brownish/taupe color on the uppers. This became the standard look starting in the 2006 model year

The Passion Red Edition was not just the color, but it was the Chrome wheels, Chrome grille and the numbered sil-plate. Like the previous Star Black Edition and the original Neiman Marcus edition, the color was just one aspect of the package.

In reference to ordering various colors, there has been a lot of discussion about this, The XLR is the flagship not only for Cadillac but also for GM, with that in mind there is a growing desire to allow the XLR to be able to get any color that is being painted at the Bowling Green plant.

This could be done to showcase the premium quality and exclusivity of the XLR, by letting each owner become more unique.

I've been asking for a white XLR since before day one, preferably similar to the pearl white on the Lexus.

For those of you who might remember me... Been a long time since I posted, or been here. My attention has been diverted from my XLR to learning to fly. Thanks for the encouragement Aviator! I'll try to stop by here more often.
