Any info available on 2008 changes other than a new color or two and most likely a fender vent? Ipod? Any interior changes? I understand that the SL will be re-designed for the 2010 model and the XLR is probably due for one around the same time, assuming they continue with it.

How about cold/hot cup holders.........that would not be hard to do. Probably could be intergrated with the hot/cold seats

Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez, you guys have it all figured out. As funny as that sounds, that's where we had to put the water bottles in order to keep them from boiling in the cup holders on our trip to NYC.
That's what the seat cooler is for in the passenger seat!

I was going to put a refrigerator in the passenger seat, so I guess you go in the trunk.

I do appreciate your help on this site and as you know I try very hard to be helpful as well, but once again, I'm not surprised to see that GM hasn't given any thought to people who have written customer care or talked to customer care in the last 3 years.
Yes, my V is a wonderful machine, but we asked for upgrades of many kinds, non of which included a heated steering wheel or new fancy buttons on the steering wheel. It seems that they just zeroed in on chrome wheels, and steering wheels.
As far as the different paints, that's a personal preference thing.
NO heated/cool cup holders (Escalade has these)
NO improvement in the nav system (Escalade got this)
NO retractable windscreen
NO two tone interiors
NO remote start
NO more horse power
NO decent brake pads that last more than 11,000 miles
NO fingerprint detection on startup.
These are just a few of my wants, I'm sure others have a list too.
I shall ask the general manager, Jim Taylor when I go to BG, or maybe Len Tillard at quality control, why no one takes heed to the customer wants & desires and no one answers are e-mails & letters.

For those that have been wondering about the 2008 XLR and all the changes that have been done, I have compiled them for simple viewing. You can see all the changes at:

2008 Changes

Michael,
I have already started to look into your question regarding can the new style remote be configured to a 04/07 XLR. GM is in shut down until 7/16 once engineering returns I will have the specifics. Yes, the steering wheel is either Light or Dark Eucalyptus in the regular XLR.

Bob,
some of the items you are requesting would recquire a different type of electical architecture. When the XLR was originally designed in 01/02 many of the items on other Cadillac models didnt exist. When features are upgraded they must comply with the architecture that is in place with a specific vehicle.

2008 has more changes for the XLR to date, but remember the Mid-cycle is in 2009.

Thank you
Allen

2008 key fob for 2004?

Do you have an update on whether the 2008 key fob would work on a 2004 thru 2007? If so, what it the price of the key fob?

Thanks.

New Design 2008 Remote

Chime in? Hope it's a good thing? But yes, you can program the new design retome to the previous years. As stated the lock cylinders in the glove box and the emergency access in the rear bumper would need to be replaced to fit the new design key.

The glove box lock is not really a big deal to replace, but the emergency rear access cylinder is a different story. The new remote is very cool looking ( http://cadillac-xlr.com/_wsn/page19.html ) but if you dont replace the lock cylinders, the benefit of the key fitting in the remote is doesn't do any good.
