Purple??? You have got to be kidding me. Not Navy, not white, not metallic anything not pewter but purple - a color they already got rid of.

If shale wih black accents is replaced with just cashemere does that mean theblack is gone?

I also dont understand the interior description - cashemere with burl?

This car could be so much better with bigger tires and sportier wheels but instead I get Purple.

I hate to say but if it is anything like the neiman marcus edition color i kind of liked that color i think it just had a good color it was like a silver wiht a purple if it is anything like that it will be nice but like a real purple that is gonna be really ugly.

Last Xlr

I've just decided, that I have bought my last XLR. As much as I love my new V, I can't deal with people who won't listen and GM won't listen to anything you suggest. We are the people that are keeping GM afloat and they don't listen. Did I forget to mention that they don't listen.

Cadillac has a color on there 2006 DTS that is called ice blue or something like that which is a pearlize light blue actually looks nice. I believe the Liquid Amethyst will be a very light color simular to that concept. But don't qoute me because I can't release this info before the release date!:thumbs

The guys at Cadillac who designed the original XLR certainly did not have much input from us.
In fact, they surprised the automotive world with a bold, innovative design.
The XLR is arguably the first U.S. roadster to capture drivers attention since Henry Ford's 1929 classic.
Rather than "nit-pick" GM regarding color choice and options on the 07 models,
we should rejoice that a U.S. automobile Co., faced with difficult labor challenges can offer such a magnificent vehicle.
My 04 XLR is the finest car I have ever owned.

Let's get off their back and support GM for a change.

P.S.
I am not a G.M. employee, nor do I own stock in the company.

I agree............But

I think we all get your point Books, and I would agree. The reason people like 17 different kinds of soda is because of taste. This would hold true with colors of cars as well. This vehicle would look good in a lot of colors that most owners would rather have then the choices they are getting, like a soft yellow, some nice pastels like VW's bugs. I'm not trying to compare the two but I think you understand where I'm coming from. I love my platinum V but it was the only choice I had for my 04 and my V, so I took the color I liked best. I'm lucky I got the choice, but what do I do, keep getting the same color each time I buy a new XLR, because they only have three colors?
But to be fair................GM just doesn't care or listen to owners. That is not good business sense and would maybe figure in the reason they are in trouble.:banghead

Well said, Brooks! It's great that Cadillac is offering the Platinum Edition XLR's, especially with the new "Liquid Amethyst" color--I can't wait to see it! The previous N-M editions looked great, and another shade of purple will be great for the finest styled car available! It will also reflect Cadillac's traditionally flashy style, a large part of what established it as the greatest American marque! Remember, there have been various purple hues offered in the Caddy line-up in the past. . . Heather, Primrose Firemist, Wisteria, Chateau Mauve Firemist, etc. It will be very classy.

Brooks:
I partially agree BUT the XLR was a production version of the Cien that received rave Reviews at the international car shows. So much so that GM finally listened to their phone calls (Standby) and decided to build a production version. Unfortunately they decided to remove some of the more interesting items like gull wing doors.

I have made it clear that there would not be a "V" in my future if GM wanted to pick the color I recieved.

After looking over 3 new black "V"s at the dealer I am not impressed given the $25k additional cost. I hate to admit it but I think GM needs to drastically increase the quality of the components used in both the standard and the "V" given the asking price.

I like the car and may keep my 04 for another 3 years or so.

Hi 1 XLR FL,
the XLR is not the production version of the CIEN:nono - it?s the prod. version of the EVOQ.
