sorry

Lady Phoenix,
OK, I will read all of the thread the next time.:banghead I'm really thinking nothing but V lately.
I was going to responde to what I thought the 2006 XLR would have for changes, but that's really opening up a big can of worms. Fear Factor, anyone?

I am REALLY PISSED that they have decided to offer only 3 colors!! I AM NOT interested in Red, Silver or Black.

In fact I am thinking about cancelling my order and keeping what I have (Xeon Blue).

The CORE issue is that Cadillac with all of their infinite wisdom and marketing consultants should have figured out by now that you don't limit interior and exterior color options on a $75-$90k car purchasers like they were buying a Saturn or a Nova. I just don't get it I guess.

Regards

me toooooooooooooooooooo!

Your right..............they just don't listen to us, but yet they will copy what we do to our vehicles in a heart beat.

How many of us do you suppose have offered up ideas at Cadillac.com and no one even gets a reply. Not one of my ideas where incorportated into the 2006, and I had good ones.

I've threatened to cancel my order before and I'm really on the fence with this one.

I remember when you said you were going to see the showing at the Super Bowl and no one even bothered to call you to come see it.
Sorry, I didn't mean to rub salt in the wound.

I entered our first 2006 orders today. Other than a couple of color changes, and that the XM radio option is no longer a stand alone, looks like the biggest change will be the Black Star limited edition ones(only 250 will be made), and the shale interior now is listed as a shale and ebony. That is all I know.

YOU are entitled to poke fun at me for THAT fiaso.

It seems that the XLR-V wasn't even at the super bowl according to SOME people at the dealership.

With sales lagging it would be nice if they listened to some of their prospective repeat buyers ideas to further refine the car.

I am interested in seeing them do something else in the trunk to at least let you put some luggage and/or golf clubs in the car with the top down. Mercedes did solve this one fairly well and it could serve as a model for them to design the changes.

Some nicer wheels would be nice too. I think they missed the mark on the XLR-V wheels too.

Take Care

Red or Platinum.....Platimum or Red?

I guess I better see my dealer about finalizing my deal and let him know what color I want. The only thing is, what color do I want. How can I get to see the new red up close and personal? I'm going to go with the Shale/Ebony interior, and either my platinum or the red if I can see it.

Thanks again

XLR I,
OH, it was there all right, the owner of my dealership was sitting in it and came back with all the new info first hand. It just wasn't AT the Super Bowl. It was at a special showing in one of those white tents and only dealers where invited and not allowed to bring anyone else.

XLR 1 is right about the idea of being able to put in a golf bag with the top down. Mercedes did come up with a solution, but caddy didn't get all that they paid for. I undertsand the same engineering company designed the top for the Caddy and the Benz. I also don't like the way the caddy trunk dumps all of the water in the trunk when you open it.

Despite all of the quarky things that irritate me, I will still take the XLR over the Benz any day.

As I said before I got rid of my SL for the Caddy and don't regret it. I has a guy that I though was going to be a jerk and show off yesterday in his SL55 come flying up behind me, then beside me like he wanted a race. All he really wanted was to give a thumbs up and fell back behind me.

The 2006 orders are able to be entered now. This is for the XLR and Star Black editions, the V orders are not being accepted by the ordering system yet. Color changes, forward adaptive lighting, changes to the passenger sensing system, and XM now standard, with concealed antenna are the major changes.

A concealed XM antenna? Will it be possible to get the concealed antenna on a pre-2006? I never installed my XM antenna.

I knew that ugly thing would be short lived! I didn't install mine either.

We need more info on the concealed one...first I've heard

"unique hidden diversity XM antenna" is the description in the order guide under the 06 updates. Will let you know when I can track down the part number and wiring diagrams, both of which will likely be a little while.

The online service manuals have not been loaded for the 06 Cadillacs yet, and we do not have parts catalogs yet, since production has not started. The first scheduling cycle will not start until mid-May. So, it will be a while before I can get you the info you want. I assume you are looking at the possibilies of retrofitting.
