I am writing to try and get guidance as to whether the dolby digital navigation screens can be repaired; that have similiar symtoms as noted noted above.. The fading is not total- but most noticable for sure and the screen is no longer bright and crisp. My unit is still fully functioning however.... but just darker and settings have been checked and have now been placed on the brightest levels to assit in this issue.

If they cannot be repaired for these symptoms- can the navigation screen be purchased new or used ? If so-where would one suggest I seek assitance in that I am in the Tampa-Clearwater Florida area?

Would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions with this type of issue. Thanks-Dirigo

I have similar issues with fully functional system but my screen has faded and an image imprinted. I have spoken with Hi Tech Electronic Services, as recommended by another XLR owner. He says he can fix. He has a video of how to remove the unit to ship it to him. I haven't done it yet but I think iI might give it a try. Fred

Thanks so much for the reply and yes, your situation sounds exactly as that of mine. In the past I have had the navigation system removed & the CD player (as they are attached together), and they were sent to Syracuse NY who repaired the CD player. A local car stereo company here in Clearwater who are professionals took out the unit and once repaired & returned to me; they placed it back in my vehicle with no issues. Should you have the address of the Canadian company let me know if you would and, in the meantime, I will seek the name you provided via the Internet to determine exactly where they are located. Please post the cost of removal and repairs. That would be helpful to those thinking of just buying a good used unit .
