So why did they eliminate the adaptive Cruise control in the 2006 V?

I would imagine, in answering my own question, that their studies show that many people do not use -- or trust -- adaptive cruise control. In my case, it is one of the best toys that I have ever owned.

It is my understanding they deleted the hardware to make room for additional air intake to feed the S/C'ed motor, although personally I think it's to open up air flow to help cool the engine compartment.

Once you start compressing air, you develop tons of heat and with the boost levels that little motor will be dealing with, heat will be its middle name.

All things considered, it's not a bad trade off, since there won't be that many "V" models out there anyway. It may also help a tiny bit with the final pricing too, since you won't be paying for it.

Simple put............ACC will not work with the new grill in the bottom. It will bounce the signal back to the radar unit.
