Hi friends,
as you know from my regular XLR, this 160 mph speedo (export 260 kph-analog)is way too low for this car and now, the XLR V is getting the same one :nodno
If the V is limited at 155 mph (250 kph) the limiter will kick in at this speed in about 20-25 seconds like a oversized parashut.
My XLR is not governed so I hope the export V will be the same.
But still, Cadillac should put at least a 180 mph (300 kph) speedo in the V`s as for example the CTS V got.

Happy New Year to all of you

SRT-8 developers are now saying the 0-60 times are the "best in the industry" and it will achieve it on either wet or dry pavement due to the all-wheel drive. It's not the first time an all-wheel drive platform has been introduced here with performance numbers to brag about. The 1992 Typhoon would run 0-60 in 4.8 sec. bone stock, with just an air filter swap and a little air dropped out of the tires it would cut that by nearly two tenths.

It will be interesting to see what we end up with when the STS & XLR V's actually roll out into the public's hands. Pre-production models are just that, so I guess we will have to wait and see what the real deals perform like. The CTS-V certainly is not impresssive, it's too heavy to be a real contender. I beat the crap out of one from stop light to stop light recently.

The horsepower war has forced Dodge to re-certify the newest Viper model, wanting to stay on top and facing stiff competition from the Z06 they have now rated the Viper at 510 to keep ahead of the Z06 which rates itself at 505.

It will be interesting to see where this all ends. Bottom line is it's a great time to be a car nut. Unlike the horsepower wars of the 60-70's this is real power that you can actually put to the ground and at the same time have all of the creature comforts.

O' boy, Mswaim is going to buy a jeep now. Guess things aren't going to well for an X XLR owner that had to beg GM to get him out from under a big payment because he couldn't afford it. Your really pathetic. Lets all go buy a jeep because it's fast.............that makes a lot of sense. Why not buy a dragster. :glol :glol :glol :glol :glol :glol :glol :glol :glol :glol

speedo too low

here is what I mean:

my XLR shows analog 260 kph (162 mph) but goes by HUD 289 kph ( 179 mph)
and now
CTSV 300 kph (180 mph us version) that`s OK
SRT8 300 kph (180 mph us version) that`s OK
GTO 300 kph (180 mph us version) that`s OK
STS V 260 kph (160 mph us version) that`s NOT OK
XLR V 260 kph (160 mph us version) that`s NOT OK

please Cadillac V division let us have for Germany on the XLR V and STS V a 300 kph speedo (180 mph) and forget, as on my XLR any speed limiter.

Hans
