What's the availability of 07 V's? Several months ago people on these forums were talking about them being delivered in September/October. Regular 07 XLR's are out there, but to the best of my knowledge no one has ordered or taken delivery of an 07 V. And probably for good reason given the availabilty of 06's on dealer lots.

Has anybody seen or heard anything about when the 07's will be available?

Hello, is there anyone out there? I asked a number of legitimate questions some time ago about the availabilty of 06 and 07 V's and the responses have been sparce to say the least. As one song composer put it "doesn't anybody care anymore"? Come on, wake up and share some market intelligence about what's going on with this great car!

I too have asked specific questions of members, only to be ignored, sent them private messages with no response. They don't want to answer?...........say so. I post more messages than anyone and have helped numerous XLR owners with many problems. I'm disgusted with some members too

No one wants to show their less than perfect market savvy! I don't answer some questions simply because I either know I paid too much or didn't want to appear wasteful in my desire to get the car. I ordered mine, the dealer has never had one in stock and really had to order it through another dealer who had been to the sales training that they must have to sell them. I live on the Mississippi gulf coast and have yet to see another car around. The dealer in Mobile, AL had one for two weeks and it was sold. I paid 96,500 for the car. I hope this helps some or someone.

srstrunk - Thanks for your reply and sharing the information about your new vehicle. I'm sure you get lots of looks from people in your area given how unique it is. You must be very proud of it. By the way, what color combination did you get?

People on these forums need to recognize that you don't have to be an expert to participate. Sure some are more "market savy" or "techno nuts" than others, but that's OK. As a matter of fact it great, because that's how people learn from one another. The whole point is to share ideas and experiences about one of the greatest cars made!

Thanks again.

My V was delivered on January 19 and was the first retail car in California, possibly the country, so of course I paid the $100K. I knew then it was too much, but it made me part of an exclusive group to own this unique car....and I wanted it. Now that prices have dropped 25% in the first year, I feel like I was taken and look at my car with distain rather than the pride I once had. GM has failed badly in marketing this car IMO

I too paid 100k for mine to be one of the first in California to have a V. ( Feb. 28th) It's an awesome car and I don't look at my car with disdain, because GM did a buy back on my 04 that had many problems and I received over a 100k for it, so naturally I feel that I traded up with very little cost involved. Just put me next to a Mercedes or BMW at a light and I'm in heaven and their in hell.

I got Black on the exterior and cashmere on the inside. I do get lots of looks! I installed the remote exhaust control and programmed the homelink buttons for on and off and thoroughly enjoy it. I bought the car with the intention of putting it up after a few miles and adding it to a collection that I have started (I have a 2000 prowler), but I have managed to put 5600 miles on it already and have no interest in putting it up yet.

Srstrunk - sounds like you got a great car.

A couple of questions: Did you install the Mild 2 Wild exhaust baffle control device? Did you do the installation yourself? If so, do you have instructions for how to do it?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, I nstalled it myself. When I ordered it form Mild 2 wild he told me it had not been installed on the V yet and couldn't provide much support for it. but he sent the instuctions for the Z06 and they were similar. It is the remote version so the entire installation occurs in the back left access panel near the tire. I spliced the wires for the control unit on to the wires for the exhaust control and then grounded it on a support and that was it. I use it all the time, It's great!!!!!

There seems to be an abundance of 2006 "V's on dealers lots, at least here in Southern California. I see them advertised at $82,000 but am curious about the lowest price any member has seen.

Would really appreciate this information as I am getting ready to "jump":flag

srstrunk....I am trying to install Mild 2 Wild using your post of Nov 30th.
If I understand what you said, you spliced the 12Vin & 12Vout into the
red wire that operates the baffles.and completely cut out the fuse plug
supplied with the controller. The ground and antenna are self
explanatory (even to an old duff like me)Appreciate your advice :nopity
