2006 Xlr

Forgot the pic! On another note I have a factory warranty until 2010. I am looking to purchase an extended version, When would be a good time to purchase?

Thank you,

Dave

Hello everybody, I'm a newbie to this forum and look forward to getting some info from you all. I have always been a corvette person most of my life, but bought my first XLR last month. So far I am crazy about this car. I was wondering if I can ask on this post about what is the best way to mount a front license bracket and sources for same, or do I have to ask on a later post.

Thanks

Welcome we are happy you decided to join up.

YOUR QUESTION: There was a kit that came with the car that required drilling the forn bumper--a permanent solution.

Also I remember somebody talking about a "hidden front license plate". So you may want to to a search and see if it pops up.

Regards

Hey all,

Just picked up my first R, its an 05 with somewhat high mileage however the previous owner was meticulous to say the least (as am I). It looks minty and I have no complaints thus far.

New owner

Just bought one today! 2005 black on black, 30k miles. I pick it up on saturday!!

I live in the DC area and bought it from a dealer in Akron, Ohio. Had a buddy up there check it out and test drive it. He loved it. My dad is in Akron this week for the golf tourney, he stopped by today and said it's Amazing! i can't wait to pick it up!

Welcome to the XLR Forum.

BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE DEAL--Be sure tha the car is Cadillac Certified or has a GMPP Warranty on it.

If you read some of the recent posts here you will see that the investment in the warranty is well worth the money.

newest guy here....

Just signed up. Love these forums. I am not an XLR owner yet. Looking to trade in my 2000 corvette for one. I am a big poster of the corvette forum.

Found a few '04-'05's in the 28k-32k range. That sounds like a fairly good deal. They are in the 30-50k mile range.
Any quirks in those two year groups? I'm edging towards an 05 mostly because of the usual first-year problems (just like the 97 C5 corvettes).

I have found a few that are certified at dealers with the 6 yr/100k warrantee. I am leaning towards them as well...I think that alone would be worth a couple extra $1000. Any thoughts or tips most welcome!!

Thanks a bunch,
dean
