hot engine AC off error codes wont erase
I know this issue has come up before but this is slightly different. My 2008 Cadillac XLR V is giving a hot engine AC off message and blower fan is coming on. The car is not coming up to temperature fast enough. The dealer has replaced the MAF, thermostat, and ECT. The car still fails. Yet the OBD scanner shows no stored or pending error codes. However, it shows two codes $7E8: Engine and $7EA. You hit erase on the scanner for these codes and car goes back to normal, but only until the next cold startup. You can’t permanently erase these two codes only temporarily with the scanner. The dealer says the ECU program is most current and they are reluctant to put in a new one in fearing that it won’t solve the problem. I have measured all the temperatures and flows etc. and they are all correct. Their only solution is to try and permanently delete the P0125 code from the ECU so even if it gets a message it won’t enact the code. They are trying to find someone how to erase that code. My question is whether there is another solution. I have no idea why my car comes up to temperature too slow when all the parts seem to be operating correctly. Why are these two codes permanently showing up even when the car is just started. Been to the deal 4 times – good people but this is a real bug. Any thoughts
