more trunk lid problems.

Hello, I'm NEW MEMBER AND JUST BOUGHT A'05 XLR. A great car with 39xxx miles. My initial problem is with the trunk lid. It will raise using all three methods but after reaching it's max height, it will slowly drift down and shut. I tried cycling it several times and the results were always the same. I tried with the engine running or off, same results. I checked my battery voltage during engine operation and was 16.5 volts. Am at a loss except to visit the dealer that sold it to me.. any insight would help. thanks
