Ive got major problems with my 05 XLR , Started with losing coolant, took it to a guy in Bellflower who said it was just a blown head gasket and he could fix it and install a set of
head bolts ( the Super Stud System ) to be exact, well after doing this and reinstalling the engine he decides that the compression isnt what it should be and Pulls the engine again this time informing me the heads need to be sent out. I wanted to put new heads on first if there was any question as to them being good. He sent the heads out and re installs the engine. Using the same gaskets as before ( i learned of this later) i pick up the car and drive it home, first 2 qt low on oil, and the next day getting a low coolant message, long story short i add coolant, replace the belts due to squeaking excessively, replace 2 hoses because of leaking, and still low coolant message, now the car runs like ****, since im at 92000 miles I think maybe the spark plugs are ready to be changed, I do so, 15 min into a hour drive and i get low coolant again. call a tow truck tow it home and then to the shop the next day.
Now he pulls the engine again, and informs me I have a cracked head. I take the heads to replace them and was told its not cracked there is debris that was between the head and the (reused gasket) Great!!!! I get the head resurfaced and purchase new gaskets and he puts the engine back together , after trying to soak another $800 for a new and improved super super stud system. I opted out on that deal. so he slaps the engine back in the car and says its done come and get it,
every warrning light is on in the car. i tow it to a dealer and they inform me its codding all over the place. and think maybe he failed to hook up a neg ground cable somewhere,
I'm at a loss of what to do at this point, after paying $5000 to fix my car I"m left with a car that i cant drive, help if you can ,,,,,,,,
