Thanks ! I'm going to get the books and a Tech 2, you are correct, the car isn't changing. Then I can also use it on my 05 ESV too.

GM Warranty

When I bought my 05 I was offered a 30 month 30 thousand mile warranty. Thank goodness I bought it. One year and less than a thousand miles later, (it spends most of it's time stored) the rear differential plates started grinding after backing out of my driveway and turning onto an uphill roadway. I called my dealer and he suggested I change the rearend fluid. I did that and it still kept grinding. The dealer installed a brand new differential, housing and all. The cost to me was my $100. deductible. The insurer to a hit of over $3,000.

By all means, buy the warrantee!

For what it's worth: Last year I purchased a 6 year, 60,000 mile service contract on my 2008 through Costco. Last week, the top would not go up, and the dealer wound up replacing the pump (list price $1300). I paid my $100 deductible, and my dealer reported that the company was easy to work with.

An interesting feature is that Costco offers an interest-free payment plan of 10 percent down and 5 percent per month for 18 months.
