2004 xlr hud not working

I was recently driving my 04 XLR when I heard a strange, rattle in the dash that lasted about 1 second. Sounded like something dropped into a plastic box. I then noticed that my HUD weas no longer showing in the windshield and not only that, but there was now a white spot in the window where the display used to be. It looks like there is a 3x5 index card laying on the dash reflecting onto the windshield.
When I got home, I looked into the windshield from the outside to see what had happened. I could see the part of the HUD that has the mirror attached to it, laying in the bottom of the display unit. It has fallen out of it's mounts. All it is, is a curved mirror that has two push in clips on each side that hold it to the projection unit.
I now have to figure out how to get the dash pad off, without doing any damage.
Has anyone found a youtube on getting the dash pad off?
