Service fuel system

08 XLR-V,, "service fuel system" in DIC and gas gauge says empty, this happened with about 1/4 tank. Filled it and added some fuel system/injector cleaner as well,, nothing changed. It seems like I read this is because of a stored DTC code? And "clearing"? the codes might correct it? if only for awhile? If so, how do I clear any stored codes???? unhook battery? if so how long?

Took to my dealer, found 2 codes, has tank sender/pressure readings. Cleared codes and so far everything is working fine. We shall see

No one ever answer the question as to how a code can be cleared. If you have codes is there any way to clear them without a trip to the dealer?

Unfortunately, you need a Tech II inmost cases. It's about $1,500 to $2,000 on EBay.
