2006 xlr mirror courtesy lites

The courtesy lites on the mirror will not turn off with the switches. Any ideas?

Be aware that these lights are on a delay timer activated by the door switch that time out and go off a few seconds after the doors are closed. Starting the engine will also shut them off if the doors are closed. If you try to turn them off with the switch before they time out you may be turning them on instead and it will seem like the switch does not work. Hope this is all it is.

I had the same problem plus the ignition switch light was on. Would not time out even the interior lights. Disconnected the positive battery wire for 15 min and reconnected pos, problem gone. Told my service tech at Cadillac dealer about this and said start the car and move gear shift lever in and out of park next time this happens. Switch in console may be going bad. Doug J

IIRC, isn't there a 'problem' (feature) with one of the switches the the right of the steering wheel, that results in this apparent wrong behavior? Have a search on this site for the experience of others. It is on page 3-57 of the owners' manual, under DIC controls. The second button down is 'interior lights' and pushing it causes the interior lights to behave in a way many owners don't seem to get along with.
