I never understood why they never offered White Diamond, but the Xenon Blue got my attention first, unfortunately, I ended up with Black Raven. I'll never do that again. My work parking lot has no shade and all that black gets toasty in the summer.

I actually haven't seen a color I don't like on an XLR..the shape is so distinctive and different that any color looks good on these cars....

Black or Crimson are my favorite, mine is Satin Nickel which to me looks less flashy and more subdued, and much easier to keep clean....

--I think the "official" name of the Neiman Marcus edition paint color is Magnetic Amethyst. . . kind of an oxymoron since amethyst isn't ferrous. In many cases there are two names for each paint color, the RPO code and brochure/sales name.

Why isn't "Star Black Limited Edition" on the list?

Magnetic Amethyst/Majestic Amethyst was used only for the 2004 Nieman Marcus Edition XLR (RPO Code 95U). They were the first XLRs sold to the general public and were produced in a limited run of 102 vehicles that set a sales record for the fastest selling product in their catalog up to that time. The whole lot was sold in just fourteen minutes! The color was marketed as "Ultra Violet" and cost $85,000. Follow-on base XLRs sold for a tad over $76,000. This edition actually has three interchangeable different paint names depending on what paperwork one was reading.

Liquid Amethyst/Golden Quartz Metallic appeared in the 2007-2008 model years (RPO Code 36U.)

Very unique paint scheme.
