Can someone tell me something about the HUD and the ACC of the new XLR-V? Is the radar after the crest like in the STS? And the HUD is like that of the XLR of perhaps similar to that of the Corvette? Thanks in advance.

The HUD is simular to the VET's although you don't get the RPM's and you can't choose which items to be displayed on the HUD. From a setup stand-point, it is the same.

Hi Gurtholfin,

the radar on the XLR is left and right side of the front license-plate (if you must have one on front). Here in Germany a front and rear lic. plate is a must!!!!!

Thank you Harry.
I thought that, being the grille different, also the position of the radar were different (I don't see radar-transparent material in the lower section). Am I wrong?

Hi Gurtholfin,

on the left and right side where the front lic. place used to be its blacked out plastic covers which must be visible. On my DIC I even get an information to clean it when to much flies or dirt is on there.

Well, ACC is nice IŽll say in the US because you got the speed limit but I almost never use it here. I drive very fast on our autobahns when traffic is good.

Regarding the Heads Up Display on the XLR-V, that will be standard on the roadster like the current 2005 model. But the Adaptive cruise will not be on the vehicle as standard or optional. Due to the increased need for better breathing for the supercharged engine the adaptive cruise control is being removed.

For the current features, specs & photos simply click on:

Boy this sounds like a lame story to me. They jack up the price and take away a radar system and heads up display for the ACC? What else are they removing, the air conditioner:rant so the engine can breathe better? Ya know, I really don't care. I'd just as soon have normal cruise control, I know where the brake is.

I mentioned you will not have the ACC on the XLR-V, but you will have the HUD Heads Up Display. Take a look at the Infra Red XLR-V on the Site.

Dumb if you ask me.
Do you think someone from GM or Bowling Green monitors this site?

standby,

i agree with you... it is dumb to limit the colors... I don't think it would require that much overhead and there already are few color to start with...

lookslike we're headed back to the Henry Ford era "You can have any color you want as long as its black" thing...

By the way, it's cool that they're offering new colors for the V, but don't you guys think that they should offer a custom paint option (priced around 2,000USD) like Porsche does?

I like the black so I'm ok, but a bright ferrari red would be cool, and so would a limited edition special cameleon-paint (Dark Grey/Silver)... kinda like in the promo photos of the Vs on the Cadillac website..
