Does anyone know the part number or name of the part for the shield that goes in front of the cruise control "eye"?

What year is your XLR? Is the bezel damaged or missing?

It needs replaced. The prior owner put a regular plexiglass thing in. The year is 2004

The Lower Grill assembly PN is 247797. The drawing shows what looks like the left and right smoked plexiglass bezels attached. I couldn't find them as seperate items in any of the other online parts cartalogs, so they're likely part of the larger Lower Grill assembly. This part is also named Filler, Radiator Grill Opening on other parts drawings. gmpartsdirect price is $81.14.

My lower grill for my 2005 was chipped up and looking a little shabby so I purchased one from the dealer under P/N 15247797 at the cost of $116.11. I believe this part fits 2004 - 2008 models. The GM Parts catalog calls it "Filler" and it comes with both right and left "bezels" (smoked plexiglass panels). At the time, I was not sure about getting the part on-line. Agree, you can get a better price from GM parts direct.

I like to think the extra money I spent paid off in the long run. The packaging from GM was not real good on my orders and the first one received at the dealer had the bezels scuffed up real bad. So it took two orders to get a good filler assembly. Installation was fairly easy - took about am hour. It is held in with both clips and a few small bolts.
