: Homecoming Parade Queen Candidate

My wife has been asked if she'd be willing to drive one of the homecoming queen candidates in the homecoming parade in our town in a couple of weeks. In the parade, our XLR-V would have the top down and the queen candidate would sit on the edge of the car. Has anyone done this with their XLR before? Should we tell them we don't want to drive with someone sitting there?
Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.

I personally would not take the risk of damaging the panels that were not designed to be load bearing. Put the Queen on several thick pillows in the passenger seat or decline the invitation. Doug-J

I agree. If she sits on the rear deck lid it could cause the mechanism to get out of wack and then $$$$$$

Also, that brushed aluminum console is a $1,000 part if you buy it. So all she has to do is put her foot in the wrong place.

INSURANCE---What happens if there is an accident or she falls out? Who's insurance covers it?

It's a VERY litigous society these days.

You might consider replying that you would like her to sign a "release and hold harmless agreement" drawn up by your attorney. Then do a trial fit before the event with her on the car proving by mutual agreement, that it's doable.

I'm not an attorney nor did I play one on TV, or sleep at a Holiday Inn express last night. :cool

I too would be concerned with her riding on the rear lid. Might consider a booster seat for the passenger seat. Driving the parade sounds like fun!

If she wants to sit on the seat, fine, but she would never be sitting on my deck or walking on my seats and console to get into position.
