: Windbaffle with Caddy emblem
standby 02-04-2005, 08:44 PM :jester Someone asked about my windbaffle and I forget who, so I'm posting an answer here.
That was Dr Bob's and I bought the caddy emblem to try and give it a little class. The Plastic just looked to plain. Cost? $55 for the emblem. Intelligence to put it on? Zero:nono
motorboat 02-05-2005, 06:01 PM Hi Standby it was me....
Did you glue the caddy emblem to the wind baffle or did you use double back tape. Is the emblem a distraction to you in the rear view mirror?
Very nice touch... :thumbs :thumbs
Mind if I steal your idea??? :jester

standby 02-06-2005, 12:14 AM Motorboat,
Actually I'm flattered that you like it. There are two different kinds of emblems. The old style which I have and the newer style. There are subtle differences between them.
They both come with pull off tape and you just stick them on. The emblem and the wreath are two pieces.
I don't find it to be a distraction. The only distraction was the price of $85.00, but they felt bad and gave me a 20% discount .
Well, tomorrow is the BIG day, guess we will know what's up with the HP. My dealer will be back from Jacksonville sometime Monday and he will have the real story. I've got a hundred that says we get 440HP.
Dr. Bob 02-06-2005, 09:35 AM Standby, that Cadillac Crest looks very classy!! Great idea - Looks fabulous!!
BTW- We are offering clear mounting straps for those XLR's with light colored rollbars(white, beige etc.), narrower Velcro straps (for black rollbars) & Winter Price Saving of 25%

jjd454 02-06-2005, 04:13 PM Who's is Dr. Bob?
Dr. Bob 02-06-2005, 08:02 PM Hi jjd454-
Sorry did not mean to hijack this thread. I patented Windbaffle 1989 and have been manufacturing them since 1995 for nearly all roadster/conv.
I am anxiously awaiting an XLR-V -- (now have 03' SRT Viper)
Some Great ads on Super Bowl on the V's.
BTW-Any constructive criticisms appreciated to make improve WB for you & your ride.

motorboat 03-21-2005, 05:58 AM Looking Good Dr. Bob,
Now you have done it. The straps look so much better. What are they made of? Can you still adjust them if they come loose or stretch out?
What is the sticker in the photos just below the strap? Is it a Caddy Emblem? That would be nice.
Thanks for the upgrade. :thumbs :thumbs

standby 03-21-2005, 03:17 PM Motorboat,
Checkout my pictures. I have Dr. Bob's windbaffle and bought an emblem from Cadillac and stuck it right in the middle. Haven't had any bad press about it, in fact most thought it looked pretty factory.

Dr. Bob How much for the clear straps in clear for my last years wind baffel???
motorboat 03-21-2005, 04:53 PM Nice Touch Standby: :thumbs :thumbs
If I get one of these I think I will add one or two to mine...
I see in the photo that Dr. Bob just posted that it had some kind of emblem right below the roll bar. I would be a great touch if he added them to the windbaffle.
Also I would like to know if you can readjust the straps if they become loose and what are the straps made of.
Blaise
Dr. Bob 03-21-2005, 07:35 PM Hi Terry,
The clear straps are available to all Windbaffle owners (as a set of six) for $25 +S/H.
The straps are made of crystal clear plastic with very secure, clear Mushroom-style Velcro latches on each end.
Thanks for your interest, Bob
Happy Spring Topdown Driving !! :flag
Dr. Bob 03-21-2005, 07:59 PM Sorry Motorboat-
The insignia on the WB photo shown above is a Viper decal .
It doesn't look near as fabulous as the Cadillac Crest however.
I think we all can agree. :thumbs

standby 03-22-2005, 08:14 PM Now that I see my emblem, I'm wonder how it would look if I had two, one each in the middle of the roll bars. That way they wouldn't be the line of vision in the rear view mirror, not that it bothers me at all.

I like it better in the center, but you should have it on front and back :thumbs
Dr. Bob 03-23-2005, 03:54 PM FYI: Latest XLR Windbaffle panel has lower, less prominent slots with narrower straps, than those pictured.

XLRcited 03-23-2005, 04:48 PM I am confused-I've seen the wind baffle on the outside of the roll bars (toward the rear of the car) and on the inside (toward the driver's compartment). Which is the proper way to place the baffle? :confused
Quixotic 03-23-2005, 05:26 PM Some time ago I went out with a wind speed indicator and tested a number of different configurations. I posted the results on this board.
