: XLR Corvette Package?
Rainey 02-03-2005, 02:01 PM Anyone heard of an XRL Corvette package? I bought a 2005 XLR Black and my mom liked it so much, she went and bought a 2005 silver a week later. Her's had chrome extensions on the exhaust (looks the same as the factory excepts sticks out more) with a chrome plate in between with the Cadillac logo on it. It looks really hot but nobody can find it or tell me how to get it. The dealer didn't even know it was on the car (we pointed it out after the deal was done). This card was labeled as a factory promotion car. We're thinking this care was used to shoot a commercial or something. There was a Sony Studion permit in the glovebox.
I would really like to add it to my car. I will get a picture this weekend and post.
motorboat 02-03-2005, 04:44 PM Rainey,
If anyone would know it would be Allen "MR. XLR".
He knows more then most people plus he sees and hears alot about these cars and where they use them as show cars etc. Maybe he can check it out for you/us after you post a photo or two. He may need the Vin. number also.
I have been looking to upgrade my exhaust pipe tips but the only ones that look like they should be on this car are the ones from Lund but at $1295.00 its just to high for what you get.
Yours sound like they would be a nice touch...
Did your dealer order this one from the factory or did he get it from another dealer?
Blaise :thumbs
Rainey 02-03-2005, 06:02 PM The dealer said the GM sent it to them as a factory program car. It only had 8 miles on it so it wasn't drove much. We think it was used to film either a commercial or the XLR DVD. We bought the car at Silver Star Cadillac in Thousand Oaks California. I will get some pictures and have them posted by tomorrow or Monday.
standby 02-03-2005, 08:19 PM Rainey and others interested in that chrome plate with caddy emblem up behind the exhaust. This is very similiar to the vette chrome plate.
See this plate on "My CLR Photos"
I don't know if you will like the price, but I can tell you where to get it.
As you can see on the picture, it's pretty well hidden after changing tips. I will part with mine for the same price I paid for them at dealers cost. $600 shipped COD. My car has not even been in wet weather and just recently put some polish on it.

Rainey 02-04-2005, 09:31 AM Bob,
That's the plate. The standard exhaust tips will show the plate nicely. The pipe extensions will stick out about another 1/2 inch though.
Thanks for the info.

HiRainey,
when the silver XLR your mom bought was new, the dealer should know where these tips came from.
I know that all tips from the C5 Vette fits also the XLR.
Had on my first 98 C5 these kind of tips before I got the Corsa-exhaust.
I´m a german and on my next trip to the us I want buy some tips to put it on my XLR.
Hope your pics coming soon!
thanks
Harry
standby 02-04-2005, 05:21 PM Yes, Rainey, the original tips show off the plate very well. The only reason I left it on was the price I paid for it.
Rainey 02-07-2005, 05:49 PM Hello all! Just didn't want you to think I forgot to put the pics up. I didn't get a chance to snap any pics of the car yet. It looks nice, but I think I'll save the $600 ot so and put it toward my next set of tires or gas money.http://110_1016.JPG
Rainey 02-10-2005, 05:06 PM Hello All
Trying to post the picture but can't figure out how to do it. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks
standby 02-10-2005, 05:46 PM Rainey,
Nobody said this was a cake walk.
Look up on lighter grey line and click on Gallery, when it appears, look to the right on the same line and click on upload pictures. The rest is pretty simple except for the size of your uploaded pic or pics. If they are too big, the system will decline to post them. You of course will have to cut them down to a size that will upload.
Give a yell if your having trouble:cheers
Bob

standby 02-15-2005, 04:53 PM Yea, same one as I bought off the dealers car for $600. It looked great on my car too until I changed the exhaust tips and blocked the exhaust plate.
Is that the only pic you uploaded?
Rainey 02-16-2005, 12:42 PM Hey Standby
That's the only picture I posted. I'll take some pics of my XLR this weekend. I bought a black one and my parents bought a silver one. I was a little bummed that hers came with the plate and mine didn't.
Have a great day
