The underhood light on my '06 is on the driver's side about midway of the hood length. Can't speak to the wiring at this time... sorry.

Would someone look under their hood and tell me the exact location that the under hood light is connected and where it connects to the wiring harness. My 2007 does not have an under hood light and i have purchased one, but i cannot see a wire where one has been or where one can be connected. My service manual shows it on the drivers side, but all of my previous cadillacs have had it on the passengers side. Thanks

There is a photo of an XLR with the hood up and under-hood lamp on in http://www.xlrforum.com/showthread.php?t=7433

I have an 04 with the light, but it doesn't work. The bulb is ok, but no juice. How does the switch work? Anyone help.

the connector is on the left side under the hood strut where it conn. to the body,my light was also out when i got my car, found the conn.undone i think the mechanics unplug them while working underhood so they don't kill the batt??maybe yours is unplugged.

This is a scary thought. I show my car often and leave the hood open all day sometimes. The light is on a timer as with all the lights and accessories, i.e., after 20 minutes it turns off automatically to conserve the battery. If the mechanic disconnected it, I would assume he's not a certified XLR Tech (who would know this).

Other than myself, there's only two guys that I allow to touch my car - my XLR Tech and my Caddy Tuner.

thanks ald42. I'm going to check. Didn't know it would go out after 20 minutes. Thanks also.

I checked under the hood at the left hood strut. Found the wire, but no connector. How does the light switch work, and is it at the blub?
