Good info in the wax thread: http://www.xlrforum.com/showthread.php?t=6003 Thanks.

I was wondering what everyone uses to remove the small "acid rain" marks that wax will not remove?

Wax isn't used to remove anything. It's a protective layer that gives depth to an already prepared (cleaned/polished) surface.

To remove spots (acid or otherwise) you need to use a polish, then follow up with a sealant (polymer or wax) to protect the finish.

start with a mild polish first and get more aggressive if it doesn't come off. You want to try and remove the least amount of clearcoat as possible. Meguiar's 105 and 205 are a very popular combination used to polish out just about everything.

You said it all in your description...........the only thing that will remove spots is sand paper.....you may lessen the appearance with a number of products....but in reality..those marks are burned into the finish.Get yourself a magnefying glass and in clear light have a good look at the spots...I think you will find that the clear is gone. A new paint job is the only answer.I have had cars exposed to acid rain from our local smelter,,and it's heartbreaking what one night of dew and condensation will do to a great finish.
I would suggest you go after your local polluter if at all possible. The company I am familiar with in Sudbury Ontario Canada has been doing this for more than 100 years now,,they have profited hundreds of billions of dollars during that time,,and they don't give a crap where their crap falls....it's cheaper to paint the cars of the complainers than fix the problem....good luck...
